PROCESS: Each hiking stick, staff, or wand is harvested, prepped, and carefully thought out. I let the stick speak to me before a chisel even touches it. Each one tells a story; if you listen.

FOUNDATION: Rafa Stikka was birthed through the interest of my son Evyn. The first spark came when at four years old, he had been watching the Lord of the Rings relentlessly, he requested a Gandolf staff. Time passed, 17 years to be exact, and one day he came to me again. This time he wanted a true hiking stick; I was severely elated. With the completion of that stick the bug had bitten me and I have been making sticks ever since. Two years ago I decided to focus on Hawaiian, Norse, and Angelic runes, symbols, and carvings. In 2025 I started creating wands too. These are original and some are duplications of Harry Potter wands. My passion is focused around creating unique sticks that make customers smile with joy over their purchase.

MATERIALS: For the most part the source of my wood comes from downing beech, birch, maple, iron wood, saplings. i find them, once prepped, to be much more sturdy and safe, Those that use fallen branches etc., run the risk of selling a stick that is hollow, diseased and sub par for true hiking stick. Also, I am not a vender who utilizes 3-D printed items or standard dowel rods in creating my hiking sticks or staves.

FUTURE PLANS: In a dream I’d like to have some employees who strip the sticks. I would then take the stick and do all the carving work. After that, it would be great to go national and move the operation to the USVI.
